Wall Street Week Ahead: Analysts Weigh In Ahead of Fed Minutes, Trump Tariff Deadline and Amazon Prime Day
Wall Street week ahead preview: Analysts weigh in on Fed minutes, Trump tariff deadline, and Amazon Prime Day, key events shaping market momentum.
Jul 06 2025
Wall Street prepares to open the trading week with following record highs on the S&P 500 and Nasdaq. However analysts warn that key events this week could set the tone for the markets, shaping sentiment and momentum for July.
On Wednesday the Trump tariff deadline expires after a 90-day extension on the so-called "Liberation Day tariffs." While the U.S. has reached agreements with the U.K. and Vietnam, tensions remain with countries like Canada, where negotiations have stalled. Investors are bracing to see if the administration will reinstate tariffs or grant further extensions, a move that could trigger market volatility.
Also the Federal Reserve June meeting minutes will be released, providing investors insights into the Fed’s stance on interest rates, inflation, and monetary policy. Additional data on consumer credit, wholesale inventories, and initial jobless claims will help gauge the strength of the U.S. economy, which remains a key driver for equity markets.
On Tuesday, Amazon kicks off its annual Prime Day event, expanded this year to include two additional days. Last year event shattered sales records, and analysts will be watching Amazon’s performance as a barometer for consumer spending trends and e-commerce demand amid ongoing economic shifts.
Earnings Season Begins
This week also marks the unofficial start of earnings season on Thursday with Delta Air Lines $DAL, Conagra Brands $CAG and Levi Strauss $LEVI
Levi, in particular, is navigating challenges tied to tariff impacts on its supply chains. These reports will provide early signals on corporate health before the full earnings season accelerates next week.
